'...How much I love you...'

For the first time since arriving in Aryn, she was alone.
That's when the pigeon made itself known.

She had seen pigeons before, always flocking around her father. But he never shared their business with her, just like he never remarked on his work as Keeper in front of her. He was only ever a Father in her presence. Robin thought it cruel this insignificant reminder would spark such memories; after all, it was only a bird. But she had no idea.

"You," it said to her as it landed, peering up at her hesitantly. "You are Robin?"

The black and silvered wolf stared at the pigeon. How could it know her name? When she didn't respond, the bird pressed: "Robin, of Highvalley, are you not?"

Still, she didn't answer. The bird acknowledged her silence. "You still do not wish to be found. That is alright."

"What do you want?"

The pigeon dipped its head and ruminated for a long while before speaking again.

"I... I'm afraid I have..." Robin saw in the little bird that something weighed heavily on its heart. It fought with itself to figure out what to say next, how to say it. Already she could tell she did not want to hear it.

Then the bird steeled its nerves and tuned to its best-trained Carrier Pigeon tone. "I have a message for you:"
